The Big Island

Well lots has happened in these past few days. I have to make this quick as someone else is waiting for the computer...

We got to our house Monday and were greatly disappointed as we were greeted by moths, cockroaches and miles and miles of black lava rock. The coastline, which we thought we were on, was about a 15 minute drive off-roading. I guess it was time to have a "glitch" in our holiday! We sucked it up and spent one night there as it was too late to find something else. (We woke up finding a couple more cockraoches!) Tuesday morning Kristy and I spent 3 hours in a internet cafe trying to find new accommodations. (While dad and Colin were on a helicopter volcano tour.) We spent Tuesday night in a bed and breakfast in volcano village and had some fun chasing lava. Now, with the help of Colin's dad back home, we are happily staying at a time share resort hoping to get some money back from the first house! It's been crazy. Fortunately, not too stressful because my whole family have been on the same page dealing with misfortune.

Despite the accommodations, we have still had a good couple days being amazed by volcanos and lava (which looks like we're on another planet) and lots of fun playing in waterfalls. I had some pictures ready, but this computer doesn't have a DVD drive, only CD...so maybe next time!
